Hello, hello, hello! And Happy Birthday, again, Creative Scrappers! Even with all the fantabulous celebrating going on, we are bringing you more--another great sketch, great Guest Designer, another inspiring reveal by the DT!

Sketch #49:

Welcome, welcome, our Guest Designer,
{Mia Montalvan-Castrillo}

I am Mia Montalvan-Castrillo, a stay at home mom doubling as a free lance writer for local parenting magazines. I am in my mid-thirties, married to my best friend, Mier, for 8 years and blessed with three beautiful princesses, Nadine (age 7), Raya (age 5) and Alyssa (1 year).
I have been fixing my photos since high school but got really serious (as in using acid free materials) in 2004 after my 2nd daughter was born. Since then I've been hooked! Took a break in 2007 when I had a difficult pregnancy with my 3rd baby but I'm now back and more addicted than ever!
I believe the heart of my layouts is my journaling. I scrapbook to share myself and my stories to my children.

Hello Creative Scrappers!

It's hard for me to believe that it's been exactly 1 year since i placed a counter on this blog! 1 Year later we have { almost } 100,000 new visitors!

I'd like to take the time today to say THANK YOU!
To ALL of you who have made Creative Scrappers a fun and fabulous place to be Inspired and get Creative!

A Special Thank You goes out to our Blog Coordinator - Taryn who updates our blog and has posts for us each and every Sunday morning. Our Forum Moderators - JJ, Angie, Cheryl, Deanne and our Administrators Deb and Carol. You've been a great help and support system ladies! {{ Thank you! }}

We've had amazing designers and guest designers on our teams and we can't forget our sketch designers too! Thank you all for being part of this journey with me and i hope you continue to share your layouts and ideas with us as we move forward for another great year.

Hello my name is Frances Sylvia. By day, I am a Junior High English teacher, and by night, I am a lucky wife of 8 years, mother of 4, and a totally addicted scrapbooker. I have been scrapbooking since high school, where I would cut off the dead space in a photo before I knew the word “cropping” was cool. I love to scrapbook, not by the event, but by what I found to be significant about an event at the time. This ends up producing ridiculous amounts of scrapbooks to store, but who cares!

My greatest inspiration comes from my family and friends in the photos, but I am also inspired by sketches, patterned paper, and what I bought that week from the scrapbook store. I truly believe that I do not have a set style, yet there are some elements I can not leave off a layout these days, such as, hand stitching, distressing, inking, and layering…and more layering. Since my time is mostly devoted to being a wife and mother, I believe that scrapbooking should be FUN!! There is no greater pleasure for me than to enjoy my family, put the kids to bed, and relive the memories that we created once again.

Lastly, I would love to tell Kristine thank you for creating such an awesome site and for letting me show off my work. It is my first guest designer spot and it is such an honor!

Hello Creative Scrappers!

We are getting ready to celebrate our 1 year anniversary in the next few days! Time Flies doesn't it?!
We have some exciting things planned if you are looking for a little inspiration and something to do over the next few weeks!

We have a " Birthday Bash " organized with tons of things to do.
Over 25 sketch challenges with themes, Contests, Games and Amazing Make n' Takes!

The festivities start on Sunday April 19th at 8pm est and end on Sunday May 3rd.
Sunday night is when are challenges will be posted for you, and May 3 is when all your amazing layouts should be posted.
We already have a calendar set up so make sure you log in to print your copy!

Scrapbooking is one of my greatest joys, because it is an outlet for creative expression that also helps me to reflect on and celebrate life, and I love that I am documenting our experiences for my family.

I started scrapbooking when my older son was a toddler and have grown to love this hobby more and more. Within the last year I have really become a fan of using sketches to jump-start my layouts!

When I’m not creating, I am enjoying my family or my “day job” which is teaching middle school gifted students.
I live in beautiful Virginia with my two amazing little boys, ages 8 and 5, and my wonderful husband of 12 years.

A few other things that make me happy are coffee, Hershey's chocolate, exploring new places, taking photos, snowflakes, flying kites on the beach, art journaling, sipping wine, surfing the Internet on my laptop, watching cartoons with my boys, reading and writing poetry, vegetable gardening, experimenting with recipes, riding bikes on a spring day, reading with my boys, organizing, Mexican food, the art of Eric Carle, and admiring my collection of scrapbook supplies!

Meet Our Designers - Team "H"

Well you've seen our Team G ... what do you think?! Were you inspired by a few layouts posted in our last reveal? I have another great team of gals to introduce to you and their reveal will be posted on Sunday April 12.

Here are team H members of our Design Team:

My name is Rozella, and I am a happy very very addicted scrapper. I am trilled to be part of the Design Team (H) here at Creative Scrappers. Most of my layouts are filled with lots of flowers, buttons, clear stamps and dots. And above all pictures of my 2 lovely daughters.

I live in The Netherlands, 42 years old, married with Peter and we have 2 daughters, Lysanne (10) and Julia (7). I work part time as a secretary. Sometimes I give some workshops and my work is this year in one and last year in 2 Dutch Scrapbook magazines. I am also part of other design teams in The Netherlands but never in a foreign country.

I've been scrapbooking for a few years now and they say I have a "Rozella style"...I love working with lots of flowers and clear stamps...and mostly with white cardstock.

IHi, I am Patti and I am from Alberta, and am married to Glenn. We have two handsome young men who are the centre of my photography world.

I’ve been told by others that there IS a life outside of scrapbooking? With that being said, my other ‘loves’ are my Labrador Retrievers, Rowan and Bentley,reading, watching movies, camping and enjoying the outdoors.

I have been scrapping for about 10 years and have just begun to dabble in digital scrapbooking. This hobby has brought so much 'richness' to my life. It has landed me many friends, memories, joy and fulfillment. I couldn't imagine being without it.

I am so excited to be part of the Design Team at Creative Scrappers.

Hello! My name is Michelle, I’m a stay at home mom in the northern suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. I enjoy a fun and hectic life with three boys: my son, my dog and my hubbie!

In addition to scrapping photos of my son and our family’s life together, I’m currently addicted to mini-albums. I scrap or work on mini-album projects everyday...can’t live without it! I also teach classes and design projects for my local scrapbook store and have had a few projects published.

I love to play with a variety of styles and papers. My pages are sometimes modern and graphic, sometimes shabby chic, and sometimes a little bit of everything!

I love using sketches because they really help get my creative process started. I find I’m a much more productive and creative scrapper when I use sketches as a guide.

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer Longenecker. I am a SAHM and have been blessed with 5 wonderful kiddos. Zach and Austin are 9, Emily is 7 and Nathan and Heather are 5. I have been married to my husband David for almost 12 years and our family currently resides near Austin, TX.

I started scrapbooking in 2001 right after Emily was born and it has turned into a fantastic hobby for me. I am so excited to be part of the Creative Scrappers Sketch team. Sketches played a huge role in helping me develop my style. Since I didn’t have to worry about the design of the LO I was able to place all my focus on what products and techniques I wanted to use.

I hope I inspire you as much as others have inspired me.

My name is Frences Lich. I'm 34 years old (my lucky number!) and married with Richard. We have two beautiful daughters of 6 (Cindy) and 7 (Daphne).
I live in the Netherlands. I work as a webmaster at the local government, but in my spare time I scrap and scrap and scrap. I'm totally addicted to it.

I already scrapped with my father when I was 12 years old, with photos, coloured paper, napkins, receipts etc. Had not heard of scrapbooking then ;)
But in 2003 I bought a magazine about Scrapbooking and since then there was nothing that could stop me from scrapping. Now, a few years later, I have a forum and have an online magazine http://www.hetscrapbookforum.nl . I also won a competition in a Dutch scrap magazine, but unfortunately they stopped making magazines!

I give workshops and there's nothing that makes me more happy then see people leave with something they're so proud off. And of course I am looking forward to being a designer for Creative Scrappers!

My name is Luzma Bruna, I`m 43 years old.I live in Santiago de Chile South America. I`ve been married for 14 years.We have a girl of 12 call Bernardita (Nini) and a boy of 10 call Rodrigo (Yoyo).

I began to scrap about 2 years and I`m addicted.

Hi! My name is Diana and I live in Gilbert, Arizona with my AWESOME husband (my best friend), 3 great soccer kids, and our miniature schnauzer-Dakota. I've been scrapbooking since I was 14 years old in some fashion or another, I just love playing with paper and fun embellishments! I also have found I 'need' the creative outlet that it provides. I like to challenge myself often with new techniques, and
using up my stash! My best creative time seems to be in the middle of the day when no one is home. I enjoy using sketches because for me, it takes the 'think' out of my layout.

I currently design for an online store as their project designer. When not crafting I enjoy taking pictures,
riding my bike with the kiddos, reading, hiking, peanut m&m's, exercising, and eating. :) I'm really looking forward to creating here at Creative Scrappers!

I have now been Scrapping for the last three years and it has taken my Creativity to places I never thought possible...Is it an addiction?...No just an amazing way to Create, Document and Reflect.

I work in the Social Welfare Industry and in my Spare time I Teach/Design at my L.S.S. I am an Aunt to two delightful Little Munchkins that I absolutely Adore and Love spending time with. Hello! My name is Deb Harter, I am from Indiana, and I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost six years. We have two beautiful children who are the primary subjects of my scrapbook pages. Although scrapping has taken center stage among my hobbies, I also love to play golf, garden and crochet.

I started scrapping about seven years ago, but I didn't get really serious about it (or, should I say, obsessed with it) until about three years ago. That is when I discovered the online scrapping world, and I am so thankful for that! I love that there is a whole world of people out there with the same passion and love of scrapping that I have, and that we can share our work and ideas and inspire each other. That is what I hope to do here at Creative Scrappers - to inspire other scrappers to tap into their creativity and embrace this art no matter what their style might be. Hi, my name is Susan Longman and I am 34 and I am from Tasmania, Australia. I am a stay at home mum of 2, a boy (Ashton 4) and a girl (Eve 2 ½) .They are my reason for everything I do including my scrapping.

I have been fortunate to be published in all the Australian Scrapbooking magazines and I am currently on the Scrapbooking Memories product challenge team which is a great honour to be asked.

I have worked in Scrapbooking in many forms including in my local scrapbook shop, demonstrating and teaching for Fiskars, demonstrating for Stampin' Up! and I have been commissioned to teach classes at the National Papercraft shows here in Australia.
