Sketch #71

Good Morning Scrappers!

Don't you love Sunday Mornings? I hope you get tons of inspiration after viewing our sketch and Designer Layouts. I love reveal days! I could spend an hour or so just looking at all the layouts and details created by these fabulous ladies. I must admit we have some serious talent in this little scrapbook world.

This week we have a sketch created by Karan Garber and our guest this week is Romy Veul from Holland. Ready to read on? Let's view our new sketch and some of these layouts...

Sketch #71

Our Guest Designer Romy Veul

Hi! I'm Romy, 16 years old. I live in Holland in a small village near to Amsterdam, together with my parents, two little brothers and our pets. I was introduced to scrapbooking about 4 years ago. I've always been busy with all kinds of creativity: cardmaking, flower-arranging, making bracelets... But all these 'hobbies' were, apparently, not really something for me. About two years after being introduced to scrapbooking, I started making pages myself. I do really love the whole scrap process: photographing, editing pictures, searching for papers in my paper stash... I'm a very passionate scrapper: when all my homework is done, scrapbooking works very restful for me. I don't think there's something like a definition for my style. Sometimes my work is an explosion of color, sometimes it's more like shabby chic or even vintage.

Most of my layouts are about my family. I've got ten little nieces and nephews and two lovely brothers. They are all a perfect subject for my layouts. I'm even addicted to making scrap cards. When I'm not scrapbooking or busy with school, I love to visit blogs, galleries and message boards about scrapbooking. These bring me so much inspiration all the time. I also love playing badminton or doing fun things with friends and family. In the future I would love to be a reporter and/ or a writer and a mom. But I'm only 16, so time enough to think about what I wanna do in the future.

And then, I want to thank Kristine for this great opportunity to be a guest designer for Creative Scrappers. I really love this blog full of inspiring sketches and layouts. You all do an awesome job, girls!

Getting to know -- Amy

Hello fellow readers! It is with great pleasure for me to introduce you to one of our designers today ~ Amy. Read what Amy has to say about her love of scrapbooking and please give her a warm welcome to our team!

My name is Amy, I live in a small town deep in the heart of Texas. I've been married to the love of my life, Brad, for 15 years. He is an amazing man who supports {or endures, rather} my scrapbooking obsession! I have two daughters, Bethany is 13 & Ally is 10. I am also proud aunt to 3 beautiful little girls, so needless to say, my pages are full of girliness & pink! My family is everything to me, they are my pride and joy and bring me tons of inspiration!

My scrappy style is clean, but whimsical. I love playing with patterned paper and embellishments and enjoy looking for random non-scrappy items that I can use on my pages. I normally scrap 12x12 LOs, but I also love creating cards and altered projects. I love interior design, and often use various scrapbook products to create home decor.

I love using sketches for inspiration, and I'm so excited to be a part of the Creative-Scrappers Team!

DT announcement

I would first like to say THANK YOU to all of you who sent in your application for the DT Call that was posted last week. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the entries and interest in this part time position. The scrapbooker I have chosen to fill my spot is Jennifer French.

Jennifer was previously a member of our design team. I felt this was the best option since I wanted a quick turn around for the team. Jennifer will be part of Creative Scrappers until October 31st with a possibility of extension.

I will be posting a new Design Team Call tomorrow so if you are interested in joining our team for the next term please .... please resend your application.

Thank you again and please give a warm welcome to Jennifer.

My name is Jennifer French (JenniferF) and I live in SW Michigan with my four year old daughter, Natalie. I recently graduated from Western Michigan University with my Elementary Education degree and Early Childhood endorsement. I am thrilled that I have accomplished my goal of graduation and can't wait to have my own classroom someday. Until that time comes, I will substitute in the school district I went to and the one my daughter will attend next year.

I started scrapping about 4 years ago but become completely obsessed about 2 years ago. I think scrapping was always in me..I can remember putting photos and brochures in albums and jotting a little something in the margin about the picture or event. I love that scrapbooking gives me a creative outlet and lets me explain what the picture(s) mean to me and why I took them. My daughter is my main subject; although, I have been known to pull over and take pictures of anything because something inspired me for a layout.

Good Morning Creative Scrappers! Are you ready for a sketch this morning? Are you having a hard time scrappin this month? I know I can't wait for hockey season to start so I can start scrapbooking on Saturday nights again!!! Here is a new sketch for you created by our Sketch Designer Lady Grace, and our guest this week is the talented Camilla Ekman.

Sketch #70

Our Guest Designer Camilla Ekman

My name is Camilla and I live in southern Sweden. I work as a Montessori teacher at a school in my hometown and I really enjoy working with children. I’m married and have two children, Julia and Filip. They are my main scrapping subject.

I started scrapping two and a half years ago, after I got a beautiful scrapped match box from one of my friends. My addictions are patterned papers, flowers, bling and lace. Some say I scrap shabby chic and romantic. I scrap memories for my children, but also to keep sane. I really need to work with my hands and use my creativity. And through my hobby I’ve made a lot of new friends all over the world.

Currently I’m designing for My Scrapbook Nook, Magdas Scrapbooking (a Swedish store) and two inspirational Swedish sites. I also have been guest designing for the manufacturer Rose Moka. I’m honoured to guest design for Creative Scrappers.

Feel free to visit my blog at http://camillaslillasida.blogspot.com

Best regards, Camilla

Getting to know ... Anna

Let's get to know Anna a little bit better today!

My name's Anna, I'm Polish, I have 2 little sons (George 3,5 and Jeremy 1,5) and a lovely husband Tom. They are my greatest love and source of inspiration.

I've started scrapbooking 2 years ago when I was pregnant with my second child.

I like abundant, little bit trashy works (I could call my style bohemian, romantic & vintage I suppose). I also love to use as many embellishments as possible :). My favourite colour is brown/beige, but I also love to create in greens and blues.

Questions and Answers with Anna

A Must Have Scrapbook Supply?

Hmmmm, that would be chipboard and Glimmer Mist and some Prima stuff (like flowers and bling), Distress Inks and... To be honest I love to have a lot of scrapbooking goodies on my desk and am totally addicted to some, but what I need most is a good picture :)

Funniest thing you've ever scrapbooked?

My boys eating ice-cream. The ice melts, the faces and fingers look like icebergs, not to mention ruined clothes...

Who or what inspires you?

My family: two sons - George who is almost 4 and Jeremy, 1,5 years old – and my husband, Tom.

Do you Snack while you Scrap?

No, I'm on a diet ;) (but I cannot refuse myself a glass of good wine, e.g. Japaneese chilled Choya)

When do you feel most creative?

At night, when my kids are in bed. But the reason is rather having time only then not being especially creative during nights :D

Do you have a scrapbook confession?

I can move papers, photos and embellies for hours before I start gluing them to make a layout :) And after those hours of „preparations” I find it extremely hard to stop working on a project – always looks incomplete ;P

Favorite TV Shows?

None, I don't like watching TV, I prefer going to cinema (but don't have time for this since my kids have been born). When you see me in front of my TV it's mainly because I'm watching my boys' films, like Cars, Dinosaur or Monsters Inc., together with them ;D

What's on your scrap wish list?

A real scraproom with lots of space, shelves and cupboards :)

Favorite Manufacters?

Ranger, Prima, Tattered Angels, Maya Road and Basic Grey.

Good Evening Creative Scrappers!

Sorry for the delay in posting. Hubby and I enjoyed a week long vacation in Mexico and just got back late last night. I have been a bit lazy today and trying to get the house organized. We had a fabulous time and I can't wait to start scrappin some of our beach photos. One word to describe our vacation .. HOT! Wowie, thank goodness we had a huge swimming pool to enjoy cause it was well over 100degrees all week, and we are mostly use to 75ish 80ish here in New Brunswick!

We have another fabulous reveal from our designers today. Our sketch this week is byDeb Harter and we have a fabulous scrapbooker featured - Suzanne Torr.
Scroll down to see this week's sketch, meet our guest and view our amazing reveal.

Sketch #69:

Our Guest Designer
Suzanne Torr

Hi there, my name is Suzanne Torr (aka fruitysuet online) and I live in a village in the middle of England – lots of greenery and hills but not too much sunshine!

I have been married to Len for over twenty years and am mum to three children who are the focus of most of my layouts; Josh aged 14, Chiara aged 10 and Mia aged 8. We also have two beautiful British Blue Shorthair cats (or fluff balls as we affectionately call them), two guinea pigs and two goldfish.

I discovered scrapbooking in May 2004. I found a craft shop which offered evening classes and thought it would be fun to do something for myself on the one night of the week I wasn’t taxi’ing everyone else to their classes! The choice was patchwork or scrapbooking. I sat in on one of the scrapbooking classes and was totally hooked on the idea.

I adore playing with patterned paper (my totally favourite scrapbooking supply) and telling the story through pictures and words. Then when I discovered a local scrapbook supply store, nearby crops and online forums there was no going back – I love the social aspect of it all as well as the opportunity for creating. But, most of all, I love that playing with beautiful supplies and re-living fond memories is so therapeutic and helps me focus on the good things in life.

I have been published in several UK magazines and was on the Design Team for Creative Scrapbooking before it ceased publication. I was runner up in the Making Memories Idol competition for 2007 and am currently on the Design Team for UK retailer A Trip Down Memory Lane.

I’m thrilled to have been chosen to Guest Design here at Creative Scrappers. I have recently been introduced to the site by Debbie Nicholas (currently on the Design Team here) and find the sketches and Design Team creations so inspirational.

My blog – A Bowl of Cherries – is at www.fruitysuet.blogspot.com
